The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for much of the KMMO listening area today.
With the heavy rain that has fallen in the last several hours, pockets of water are standing on some area roadways and highways. So drivers are urged to take it easy and drive cautiously. Remember to not drive through flooded roadways; Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas is expected.
The Flash Flood Warning is in effect for many towns and cities in the area, including Carrollton, Waverly, Norborne, Bosworth, Malta Bend, Wakenda, Bogard, Tina, De Witt, Mount Leonard, Grand Pass, Stet and Dawn and many others.
Rain is predicted to continue for much of today and the next several days in the state.
