The Alpha Variant of COVID-19 had a drastic effect on Saline County, the state of Missouri and the United States. Now, the Delta Variant is trying to deal a blow of its own.

Saline County Health Department Administrator Tara Brewer says the state of Missouri and Saline County are experiencing a rise of individuals contracting the Delta Variant.

Brewer says Saline County has stalled between 37 to 40 percent of its residents being vaccinated.

Brewer says it’s important for everyone to do their part to continue to protect others- especially youths and those with underlying health conditions who cannot be vaccinated- by social distancing and masking up when necessary.
