Area authorities have an update on the search for an escaped Department of Corrections inmate from the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia earlier this week.

The Sedalia Police Department says the truck believed to have been stolen by escaped inmate 44-year-old Jason Laird has been recovered in Ozark County, Missouri. However, Laird is still at large.

The police department says it will continue to work with local authorities in Ozark County, as well as the Department of Corrections, to investigate this incident.

If you see Laird, who is white and 5-foot-3 and 160 pounds with blue eyes, authorities advise you to immediately call 9-1-1.
