Area authorities have an update on the search for an escaped Department of Corrections inmate from the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia earlier this week.

The truck believed to have been stolen by escaped inmate 44-year-old Jason Laird was recovered Saturday afternoon in Ozark County.

Confirmed through the Tipton Correctional Center, a short time after the vehicle was recovered, Laird, was captured in Ozark County.
