A Marshall man who was arrested after a pursuit in Marshall June 19 is due in court this week.

According to the Marshall Police Department, dispatch received a call in reference to a male subject tearing stickers off a U-Haul and were told the U-Haul could be stolen.

Upon officers’ arrival, they observed a white single-cab Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with what appeared to be remnants of the U-Haul stickers on the rear of the vehicle. The driver then led officers on a pursuit on several city streets. Shortly thereafter, the vehicle was located unoccupied on South Colby. A computer check of the Arizona license plate on the vehicle revealed it was stolen from Overland Park, Kansas.

About an hour after that, the police department received a call describing a male subject who mentioned something about a U-Haul and taking the decals off the vehicle. The calling party stated the male subject was southbound on the runway of the Marshall Municipal Airport.

Kyle James Bryant was taken into custody a short time later.

Court documents say Bryant is charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree and Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop by Fleeing and Driving While Revoked or Suspended. Bond is set at $15,000.

Bryant was arraigned on June 21. A motion for bond reduction was filed on June 24. A confined-docket hearing is scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at Saline County Circuit Court.
