Runners still have time to register and compete in a race in Pettis County.

Officials say online registration for the Sedalia Runners’ Club’s 40th Annual Firecracker Mile ends Friday, July 2. Race Day registration will be available.

This year, the race will be held at Liberty Park in Sedalia on Sunday, July 4.

With mile races for open, novice and runners age 14 and under, plus the PeeWee Dash and Junior Jog, this event offers something for everyone.

Medals will be given to top finishers in the Open and Novice mile races and to all finishers in the 14 and under Mile, the PeeWee Dash and the Junior Jog.

Family Team Competition: Get three or more family members (related by blood or marriage), each running in the appropriate one-mile race. Three fastest times will be totaled for scoring. Team members are eligible for individual awards. Trophies will be awarded to the top three family teams.
