A Kansas City man facing multiple charges after a high-speed pursuit that started in Cooper County and continued through Saline County on August 2, 2020, is due in court this week.

A report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper says there was a report of a stolen Chevrolet Equinox from the Eagle Stop gas station in Boonville. The driver is alleged to have sped away and passed three vehicles by using the shoulder of the interstate, and the pursuit reached a speed of 109 mph.

At one point, the suspect’s vehicle hit a parked vehicle at the commuter parking lot at Marshall Junction. And when he was finally confronted in Concordia, the suspect ran into a wooded area and was not located. However, the owner of the vehicle, who was called to the scene, said a cell phone that was inside the vehicle was not hers. A trace of the phone led authorities to the suspect.

Court documents say Jeremy Cummings is charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest by Fleeing and seven driving-related misdemeanors. Cummings posted $10,000 bond on April 27.

Cummings pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on April 23. A hearing to set a date for Cummings’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, at Saline County Circuit Court.
