Sedalia Police officers made an arrest on Monday, June 28, after a traffic stop and a foot pursuit.
A police report says the driver fled from the vehicle on foot into the parking lot of a motel. The 36-year-old male suspect was taken into custody a short distance away without incident. K9 Charlie was deployed around the suspect vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal drugs. Officers say they located a substantial amount of methamphetamine.
Further investigation revealed the suspect was staying in a room in the 4700 block of South Limit Avenue in Pettis County. Members of the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, Sedalia Police Department and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force served a search warrant and say they found illegal drugs/drug paraphernalia.
State charges of second-degree drug trafficking, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended are being sought for the suspect.
Per KMMO policy, the name of the suspect will not be released until formal charges are filed.
