During a special session of the Saline County Commission at noon on Thursday, June 24, commissioners approved several items.

First, bank bids were opened, and Treasurer Jared Brewer made a recommendation to approve the bid received from Wood & Huston Bank in Marshall. Commissioners approved the bid. The bank bid has to be approved every three years.

Michelle Hinnah resigned as Human Resources Manager, effective Friday, June 25. Commissioners approved the hiring of Jaclyn Wood to replace Hinnah. Wood’s first day was Monday, June 28.

In another action, Stephanie Newberg recently resigned as deputy collector in Cindi Sims’ office. Commissioners approved the hiring of Louise Shannon in that position. Her first day was June 21.

Also, Division IV Circuit Court approved commissioned deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Department to receive their annual salary increase plus their usual $1,200 per year uniform allowance, effective July 5, 2021. This was put through session for the record.
