
Mildred Marie “Millie” Hollon, age 91, of New Franklin, passed away July 1, 2021, at Ashley Manor in Boonville.
Mildred was born in Howard County, Missouri on March 11, 1929, a daughter of Jesse Everett and Della Christine Morrow Browning. She married Charles Clayton Browning on March 25, 1944 in Columbia. He preceded her in death.
Prior to retirement, Mildred was employed with the University of Missouri-Columbia Bookstore. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Franklin, loved her family and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include a son, Jack Hollon and wife, Virginia of Boonville; son-in-law, Roger Taylor of New Franklin; two grandchildren, Clay Hollon and Ginia Hollon-Boling; four great-grandchildren, Allie, Cayley and Eian Hollon and Noah Boling; two sisters-in-law, Alice Browning and Mary Margaret Browning and nieces and nephews in the Browning and Hollon families.
In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Bonnie Joyce Hollon-Taylor; four brothers, Homer, Roy, Kenneth and Roger Browning and by a sister, Mary Alice Browning.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Howard County. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
