
An area law-enforcement agency reminds residents about the rules regarding fireworks.
The Odessa Police Department says residents may shoot off fireworks within city limits during the hours of 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 3, Sunday, July 4, and Monday, July 5, on residential property with some restrictions:
* No fireworks may be ignited in streets or alleyways.
* Bottle rocket fireworks are prohibited.
* No fireworks may be ignited within 600 feet of a church or school.
* Ignited fireworks may not be thrown from, into or at a vehicle.
The VFW fireworks display will begin around dusk on Sunday, July 4, at Dyer Park.
