Due to devastating flooding that affected west-central Missouri in late June, several counties in the KMMO listening area, including Saline County, could be declared a disaster area.
At the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Tuesday, July 6, Saline County Emergency Management Agency Director Tony Day explained the process is taking some time.
Day explained he received a call from FEMA.
Day said if the county is declared a disaster area, the county could receive some financial assistance about 30 days after the declaration.
In other news from the meeting, Mayor Julie Schwetz said Marshall Parks and Recreation Director Chad Unterreiner told her that he is hopeful Indian Foothills Park will be fully open by Thursday, July 8.
