Now a member of Little League, the Marshall Ball Association and Marshall Parks and Recreation are hosting their first district tournaments under the Little League umbrella.

During the meeting of the park board on Wednesday, July 7, president Scott Fann said two baseball tournaments have started on Osage Field.

Fann said Marshall also is hosting another baseball tournament this weekend.

Fann said Marshall will be putting in to host some Little League softball tournaments in the future.

In other business, Marshall Parks & Recreation Director Chad Unterreiner announced the north entrance to the park was opened earlier on Wednesday, July 7. It had been closed for several days due to severe flooding from Salt Fork Creek that covered much of the area near the Seminole Court shelter house.
