Area police officers arrested two persons after the search of a motel room on Thursday, July 8.

A release from the Sedalia Police Department says officers stopped a vehicle and located methamphetamine, cutting tools and a catalytic converter inside.

Information also was obtained that room 122 at American Inn at 1217 South Limit Avenue contained more stolen catalytic converters. A search warrant was obtained for the room, and four more stolen catalytic converters were located along with various tools used to steal catalytic converters. Two of the converters were confirmed to have been stolen from a Sedalia business which had just reported the theft earlier in the day.

Arrested were a 29-year-old man and 23-year-old woman who were in the room.

Per KMMO policy, the names of the persons arrested will not be released until formal charges are filed.
