Real-estate and personal-property impact notices were mailed to Saline County residents by the Assessor’s Office last month, and some residents have reported the assessed valuation of their property has increased quite a bit from its last assessment.
Residents have a chance to dispute the increase- which in some cases was 20, 30 or 50 percent or more. Residents can do that by calling Clerk Debbie Russell and setting up an appointment to have a formal hearing with the Board of Equalization in the next few weeks.
At the meeting of the county commission on Thursday, July 8, Russell said a lot of appointments already are on the docket for the B.O.E.
