
A 10-year-old Odessa girl had to be flown from the scene of a traffic crash in Lafayette County on Tuesday, July 13.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 32-year-old Shannon Morrison, of Odessa, traveled off the right side of the roadway, through a ditch, went airborne and struck an embankment.
The 10-year-old was flown by Air Evac helicopter to Children’s Mercy Hospital, and Morrison was transported by Odessa EMS to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. A 12-year-old Odessa girl was transported by private vehicle to Lafayette Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Nobody in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened at 9:30 a.m. on Missouri Highway 131, south of Star School Road.
