Lesley A. Dierking, 70, of rural Malta Bend, MO, died Tuesday, July 13,  at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn with Pastor Timothy Miille officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.  Memorials are suggested to the Lupus Foundation or family choice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born March 29, 1951, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Wallace E. Dierking and Dorothy Louise Roehrs Dierking.  He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church on May 6, 1951, and then confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mt. Leonard on April 11, 1965.  Les was a 1969 graduate of Santa Fe High School, then attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, 1970 Alpha Gamma Sigma pledge class, and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 1973.  On August 5, 1972, he married Connie Sue Fiene who survives of the home.  Les lived in Saline County his entire life and was a lifelong farmer.  He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee.

In addition to his wife, Connie; he is survived by three sons: Tim A. Dierking (Misty) of rural Malta Bend, Johnathan P. Dierking (Lauren) of St. Louis and Jeffrey A. Dierking (Maci) of Oceanside, CA; two grandchildren, Brilee Sue Dierking and Korben Timothy Dierking; one brother, Merle Dierking (Karen) of rural Blackburn; one sister, Jana Brandt (Todd) of rural Blackburn; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
