An area city is alerting drivers about an upcoming water-main replacement that will affect traffic flow.

According to the city of Sedalia, South Montgomery Avenue from East 6th Street to East 7th Street is scheduled to be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, to allow for water-main replacement.

From 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, July 16, the intersection of South Montgomery Avenue and East 7th Street is scheduled to be closed for water-main replacement.

From 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 19, and continuing each day through Wednesday, July 21, South Montgomery Avenue between Broadway and East 7th Street is scheduled to be closed to through traffic.

Businesses and their customers in these areas will have access to parking lots, and residents will be able to access their driveways during construction activities.

Heavy equipment and workers will be in the roadway, and driving lanes will be restricted. The roadways will be opened during nighttime hours.
