
With the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus hitting hard in low-vaccinated communities in Missouri, Fitzgibbon Hospital and affiliated clinics are working to remove barriers for people to receive their vaccine through upcoming walk-in clinics.
According to a press release, appointments and pre-registration are not required, and persons age 12 and older seeking the vaccine are encouraged to walk-in during the specified times. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
· Fitzgibbon Family Health, from 9 a.m. until noon and 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21.
· Fitzgibbon Hospital Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 23.
· Marshall Family Practice, from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, July 29.
· Fitzgibbon Hospital Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30.
· Akeman McBurney Medical Clinic, from 9 a.m. until noon and 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3.
· Fitzgibbon Family Health, from 9 a.m. until noon and 1-4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4.
· Fitzgibbon Hospital Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, August 6.
Health experts say the Delta variant of the coronavirus is causing younger people to be sickened more quickly and with more severe symptoms than what was seen last year during the virus’ peak.
