Gerald Lee Miller Sr., age 95, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, July 16, 2021, at Golden Oaks Assisted Living in Marshall.

Memorial graveside service, with military rites, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating.

Born October 17, 1925, in Urbana, MO, he was the son of the late Leroy Miller and Bessie Parrack Miller. On October 10, 1943, in Marshall, he married Kathryn Laxson who preceded him in death on December 10, 2004. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558. He lived in Marshall most of his life and worked at Marshall Ice Storage and Fuel Company for many years, the grain elevator in Nelson, ConAgra and Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home. He was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Gerald Lee “Jerry” Miller Jr. of Marshall; one grandson, Brian Miller of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was preceded in death by one son, Larry Miller; daughter-in-law, Brenda Miller; six sisters, Phyllis Blankenship, Doris Thomas, twin sisters, Patty Ballenger and Betty Curtis, Janice Dingly and Joyce Sherwood-Gorusch; and one brother, Col. Carl Miller.
