Two Saline County youths are competing in the goat-tying event at the National High School Finals Rodeo.

According to the event’s website, Karsyn Fuchs, of Marshall, finished fourth in Performance 6 at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in 8.72 seconds. The winner of that performance had a time of 7.9 seconds. But Fuchs won Performance 7 at 7 p.m. on Wednesday with a time of 7.72 seconds.

Second-go performances will continue into Saturday morning. If Fuchs stays in the top 20, she will advanced into the championship round scheduled to take place Saturday night.

Paige Lilleman, of Malta Bend, was ninth with a time of 9.91 seconds during the second performance on Monday, July 19. The winner of that performance turned in a time of 7.72 seconds.

Two other Saline County youths are competing in barrel racing. Erika Lilleman, of Malta Bend, finished 113th in Go-Round 1 in 18.928 seconds; and Alexis Neff, of Marshall, wound up 161st in Round 1 in 21.98 seconds.

Results for Jeb Nelson, of Marshall, in calf tie-down roping have not been posted yet. Nelson finished 18th in his first preliminary in steer wrestling with a time of 5.54 seconds; and 11th in Round 2 with an 11.26.

Performances continue through Saturday, July 24, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
