An area woman was arrested as result of the execution of a search warrant on Thursday, April 22.

A report from the Pettis County Sheriff’s office says at approximately 5 p.m., Pettis County Deputies, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant on McVey Road in reference drug activity.

In March of this year, authorities received intelligence implicating the woman in the sales and distribution of methamphetamine. This investigation continued for the following months culminating in the warrant service.

During execution of the warrant, the woman was taken into custody without incident. There were five juvenile children present in the home; all of whom were released to family members after a hotline report was made to Division of Family Services.

Approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a stolen vehicle (reported stolen to the Sedalia Police Department this week) were recovered.

The woman was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Charges of second-degree drug trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child are being sought against the woman with Pettis County Prosecutor Phillip Sawyer.

Per KMMO Policy, the name of the suspect will not be released until formal charges are filed.
