Cooper County Public Health Center officials say the number of positive COVID-19 cases has more than tripled this month.
From July 1 to 23, the total number of new cases is 108, including multiple cases of the Delta Variant strain. There were only 35 positive cases in June.
Officials at the Cooper County Public Health Center recommend wearing of masks regardless of vaccination status.
Dr. Tom Frieden MD says, “Your Immune system does well at fighting threats it’s seen before. But COVID is new- and its mutations, such as Delta, are even newer. Vaccination prepares your body to fight COVID, so it doesn’t have to face a dangerous enemy sight unseen.”
The Cooper County Public Health Center offers vaccinations by appointment on Tuesdays and offers a walk-in clinic Thursdays- where no appointment is necessary from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 7 p.m. The Pfizer vaccine is available for age 12 and up. The Moderna vaccine is available for age 18 and up.
