Marshall firefighters were toned out to a blaze on Saturday, July 24.
According to a fire department spokesperson, the alarm sounded at 11:41 p.m. for a gazebo on fire at Indian Foothills Park. Firefighters arrived on the scene at the Battle of Marshall Gazebo just south and east of the Eastwood entrance to the park four minutes later.
When firefighters arrived, they noted the gazebo was fully involved in flames. They had the blaze under control at 11:54 p.m.
The fire department reported to the scene with an engine, a tanker truck and two officer vehicles.
The gazebo has been deemed a total loss, and the cause of the fire is still under an in-house investigation. The spokesperson said there are a couple of possibilities, but a final determination as to the cause has not been made.
Marshall Parks and Recreation Director Chad Unterreiner says there are no security cameras in that area of the park.
Firefighters left the scene at 12:42 a.m. Sunday, July 25. There were no injuries reported from the scene.
