An event to give out free school supplies is scheduled to be held in the area this week.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, a back-to-school drive-thru event is scheduled to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29.

Health Department officials say you can drive through and receive a bag of school supplies, as well as register for a chance to win an Adidas backpack containing even more school supplies.

The event will be held at the health department at 547 South Business Highway 13 in Lexington.
