The official calendar for the 2021-22 school year for Marshall Public Schools has been released.

According to the document from Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher, principals, counselors and nurses return on August 2.

Kindergarten screening is scheduled for August 9, 10 and 11 and on-site registration August 10.

Project S.H.A.R.E. is set for August 12.

The district’s Open House event is scheduled to be held on August 23.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 24. The end of the first quarter is October 15; second quarter/first semester December 17; third quarter March 4; and last day of school May 25.

Graduation is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22.

Christmas Break is December 20-31, with the return to school for the first day of the second semester set for January 4. Spring Break is scheduled for March 17-21 and Easter Break from April 14-18.

In all, there are 1,083 hours scheduled on the calendar, with 1,044 required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Dr. Maher says make-up days are scheduled as May 26, May 27, March 17, April 14 and March 21; and AMI hours will be used on an as-needed basis throughout the year.
