A 50-year-old Kansas City man is charged with a felony for driving an allegedly stolen vehicle.

According to a Lafayette County Deputy’s report, Christopher Michael Feeney was the driver of a vehicle that was stopped on U.S. Highway 24 on Tuesday, July 27. A check of the Iowa registration for the vehicle checked to a 2002 Ford F-150 instead of a 2000 Ford F-150. The deputy confirmed through dispatch the vehicle was reported stolen out of Kansas City.

Court documents say Feeney is charged with a felony for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree, with bond set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Feeney pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on Tuesday, July 27. His counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
