From approximately 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 30, the Missouri State Highway Patrol worked in conjunction with the Fayette Police Department and the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in an effort to remove unlicensed drivers from Missouri’s roadways in a Driver’s License Spot Check on Highway 240 inside the city limits of Fayette.

Authorities contacted 142 vehicles; and six warnings were given; one citation was issued for no seat belt; and one citation was issued for an uninsured motorist.

Fayette Police Department officials say, “It is imperative that we continue to do these projects in order to make Missouri roadways safer for our residents.”
