Six counties in the KMMO listening area do not have any issues for voters to decide this week, but ballot measures will be before registered voters in three separate cities in Lafayette County during the special election.
According to the Lafayette County Clerk’s office, the ballot language in Higginsville asks:
Shall the city issue its sewerage system revenue bonds in the amount of $17.5 million for the purpose of extending and improving the city’s sewerage system; including constructing and equipping a new wastewater-treatment facility and pump stations; and acquiring land and rights of way devoted to sewerage service; the cost of operation and maintenance of the sewerage system; and the principal of and interest on the revenue bonds to be payable solely from the revenue that is derived by the city from the operation of it sewerage system, including all future improvements and extension?
Other issues also are on the ballot for voters in Concordia and Lexington.
Voters go to the polls to cast their votes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 3.
