A 36-year-old Sedalia man is facing a felony charge for an alleged incident on July 7.

According to a Sedalia Police report, officers responded to the report of a domestic disturbance, and talked to a woman. The woman said Troy Carvell Wright became upset when she refused to give him money so he could travel to Chicago. The woman further alleged Wright took her car keys and wouldn’t give them back until she gave him $200. Wright fled the scene prior to authorities’ arrival.

Court documents say Wright is charged with a felony for kidnapping in the first degree. Bond has not been set yet.

Wright’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
