An area law-enforcement agency has made an arrest in connection with a string of thefts from automobiles.
Between July 26 and July 31, 2021, there were a total of seven thefts from vehicles reported to the Sedalia Police Department from the same geographical area- the east side of Sedalia. The total estimated theft from vehicles was more than $1,200.
On August 1, there was a residential burglary reported in the 1000 block of East 6th Street where nearly an additional $1,000 in property was stolen. The burglary occurred within the same time frame as the thefts from vehicles.
The Criminal Investigations Bureau was able to compile corroborating evidence from those and other related cases to show the same suspect allegedly was involved in all of the incidents.
On Thursday, August 5, patrol officers located and arrested a 32-year-old Sedalia man, who was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Authorities are seeking felony charges of second-degree burglary and stealing, as well as second-degree property damage.
Per KMMO policy, the suspect’s name will not be released until formal charges are filed.
