
Edna Simmons, 60, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, August 6, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Born September 5, 1960, in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late J.V. Arnold and Betty Ann Hutcheson Arnold. Edna lived in Saline County most of her life and was a 1979 graduate of Marshall High School. On October 27, 1979, she married Leonard Roy Simmons Jr. who preceded her in death on January 21, 2013. Edna was a cashier at Betty’s Truck Stop in rural Sweet Springs for over 35 years.
Survivors include three children, Mary Burns (Steven), Jean Simmons-Glover (Brady) and Leonard Simmons III, all of rural Sweet Springs; five grandchildren: Trenton Simmons, Ethan Simmons, Jasper Burns, Elsie Burns and Michael Glover; one brother, Ray Arnold (Pam) of Marshall; one sister, Marie Colwell of Moberly; her companion, Ronald Blackerby of the home; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by one brother, Eddy Arnold.
