The positivity rate for tests for COVID-19 in Lafayette County is 11.4 percent per the COVID Act Now Dashboard as of Thursday, August 5.

The Lafayette County Health Department says 20 county residents currently are hospitalized due to COVID-19.

As of Thursday, the county’s rate of fully-vaccinated persons was 34.4 percent, and 40.1 percent of county residents have received at least one dose of COVID vaccine.

Health department officials say, “Every little bit helps, so if you haven’t been vaccinated and would like to be, you can visit our office starting August 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for our walk-in services.”
