
During the most-recent meeting of the Saline County Commission, Clerk Debbie Russell reported her office received a check from the state.
Russell also said she talked to the state auditor’s office.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner pointed out the county has been under its ceiling for many years.
In other news, Russell said the Board of Equalization held 85 formal hearings this year- way more than usual. The hearings are held to allow residents who think the assessed valuation of their real estate was too high to voice their grievances. The B.O.E. consists of the three county commissioners and three current realtors in the county.
