A court proceeding has been scheduled for a Boonville resident who has been charged with a felony for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident that caused injuries to a child on May 12 in Cooper County.

According to a report from a Boonville Police officer, Treyvon Korte was the driver of a vehicle that struck a juvenile male and threw him to the ground. Korte then accelerated and fled the scene without stopping to check on the boy.

Court documents say Korte is charged with a felony for leaving the scene of an accident- physical injury.

Korte waived his arraignment and pleaded not guilty on June 29. His preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
