The Grand River Overflow Bridge on Chariton County Highway 139 is now open after a bridge replacement project.
According to MoDOT, the Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Boone Construction Co. to complete the project. This bridge is included in Governor Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
Crews closed the bridge to all traffic on December 7, 2020 and were able to reopen it to traffic on Friday, August 6.
MoDOT asks drivers practice safe driving habits by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones.
