Ellen Peterman, 82, of Miami, MO, died Tuesday, August 10, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

A private family service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Friends may sign the guestbook to pay their respects at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home from 8  a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, August 13, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 14.  The family request no flowers and that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 27, 1938, in Springfield, MO, she was the daughter of the late Vance Henry and Louise Ridgway Henry.  Ellen graduated from Hickman High School in 1956 and then earned her associate’s degree from Christian College in Columbia.  On April 4, 1959, she married David Peterman who preceded her in death on December 30, 2011.  Ellen and David were both active in 4-H Clubs and the Saline County Fair.  In addition to being a homemaker for her family, Ellen worked as an insurance billing clerk for O’dell Clinic which later became Missouri Valley Physicians.  She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Marshall and active in her quilting guild.

Survivors include three children: John William Peterman of Little Rock, AR, Glenn Edward Peterman (Lisa) of Macon, MO and Cheryl Jaeger (Karl) of Warrensburg, MO; four grandchildren: Ryan Peterman, Zachary Peterman, Anna Jaeger and Andrew Jaeger; two brothers, Pat Henry (Nylene) of Florida and Bill Henry of Texas; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
