A 38-year-old Carrollton resident has been charged with a felony for allegedly stealing a vehicle on August 5.

A report from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department says a man reported his Cadillac was taken from his driveway without permission by Jami Barton. On August 6, Barton was located in possession of the vehicle in Caldwell County. Authorities say she resisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol through flight. The Cadillac was recovered and impounded after a vehicle chase, and Barton was taken into custody.

According to court documents, Barton is charged with a felony for stealing a motor vehicle. The court has ordered no bond.

Barton’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
