Marshall Municipal Utilities discussed a scheduled informational meeting regarding a sewer project and funding, during its meeting on Thursday, August 12.

MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom says the meeting is scheduled to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31.

According to a press release, a portion of the project’s funding requirements will need to be met by a rate increase for customers receiving sewer service.

In addition to holding the in-person meeting, MMU will livestream for customers who are unable to attend. Social distancing will be required for customers who attend in person and face masks are recommended.

In other news, MMU approved to accept a cable plow bid from Vermeer Great Plains from Olathe, Kansas for a total of $174,037. Officials say Vermeer extended the lead time significantly, however MMU felt it would be worth the cost and delay.
