More than 100 persons currently are infected with the COVID-19 virus in Saline County.

According to the Saline County Health Department’s website, the number of active cases was 139 as of Wednesday, August 11.

In all, there have been 3,291 positive cases and 64 COVID-19-related deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

According to health department officials, out of active cases from Tuesday, August 10- 94 are unvaccinated individuals; six are under age; and 31 are vaccinated individuals.

As of Wednesday, five persons were hospitalized, including one person who is fully vaccinated.

Health department officials note that since the end of June, Saline County has experienced eight deaths. The ages range from 46 to 104. They also say, “We can confirm that two were vaccinated.”

Health department officials also point out, “These numbers are only accurate at the time they are posted. They are fluid and constantly changing.”
