
The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Lafayette County continues to climb.
According to the Lafayette County Health Department, as of Friday, there were 148 active cases in the county. There were 128 active cases in the county the day before. There are 17 county residents currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
There have been 3,112 total positive cases and 61 COVID-19-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
As of Thursday, health department officials say 35 percent of the county’s residents were fully vaccinated; and 40.9 percent had received at least one dose of the two-dose series.
Health department officials add walk-in vaccination clinics are being held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays throughout the month of August.
