Donald R. Bennett, 59, of Slater, joined the band in the sky Friday, August 13, at St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis.

Inurnment of the ashes will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 24 at Slater City Cemetery.  A celebration of life will follow the burial at the family home at 331 Broadway in Slater. Weiker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born September 16, 1961 in Atascadero, California, he was the son of the late Charles “Chuck” Bennett and Joyce Kidd Bennett.  After being together since 1998, on April 7, 2017 in Mendon, Nevada, he married Tammy Morgan, and she survives of the home.

Also surviving is a daughter, Bridget Bennett of Los Osos, California; two brothers, Charles Bennett, Jr. of Winner, South Dakota, and Mike Bennett of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Joy Bennett of Slater, and Frances Bennett and Twyla Donohue, both of the state of California; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a niece Shalimar Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was a drummer and journeyman electrician.  He had moved to Slater two months ago from the state of California.
