If you donate a minimum of two cans of food or make a $2 donation, admission to the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia is $2 instead of the regular price of $12 on Tuesday, August 17.
According to Fair officials, you can make an impact through supporting the Missouri Farmers Care Food Drive.
The Missouri FFA will host its Food Insecurity Service Day with over 900 FFA members who share a heart of service to those in need. The goal is to reduce childhood food insecurity in Missouri by packing over 200,000 child-friendly meals in honor of Missouri’s 200th birthday that will be distributed to six food banks across the state.
You can stop by the Agriculture Building to learn more about food insecurity at the canned food display, which is constructed of 3,000 cans of food. All cans used in the display will be added to the Food Drive collection and head to food banks following the Fair.
In addition to $2 admission, the day also includes $2 carnival rides (most rides), and $2 specials at select concessions and vendors will be available all day.
