Marshall Ward 1 Councilman Dewey Hendrix gave an update from the Marshall Police Department during the council meeting on Monday, August 16, which included encouragement for drivers to slow down and pay attention in school zones because school will be starting next week.

Classes start in the Marshall Public School District on Tuesday, August 24.

In other news from the meeting, Ward 3 Councilman Dan Brandt talked about some roadwork that’s been completed and still some to be done.

Additionally, the council approved an ordinance directing Mayor Julie Schwetz to execute an agreement between the city and Vance Brothers, Inc., to pay for the slurry seal surfacing of streets.
