During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, August 19, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden made an announcement regarding American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Gooden explained more.

The county received $2.2 million- or 50 percent of its total allotment of ARPA funds- in late May. The county is supposed to receive the rest of its disbursement from the federal government at a later date that has not been determined yet.

In other news from the meeting, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said B.R.O. Bridge No. 52 is scheduled to be finished by Friday, August 20- just in time for school, which begins next week. The bridge is located on Marshall Street in Sweet Springs.
