Cody Austin Dierking, 22, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, passed away Friday, August 20, in rural Grand Pass.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 27, at First Baptist Church, 8 North Odell Avenue in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow in Blackburn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church.

With the increase of COVID-19 cases, if you feel ill or have any symptoms of COVID-19, it’s requested that you wait until you feel better and you can pay your respects at a later date.

Born January 1, 1999, in Marshall, he was the son of Craig Allan Dierking and Leslie Lynn Dial Dierking who survive of rural Sweet Springs.  Cody was a 2017 graduate of Santa Fe High School where he was active in FFA, serving as vice president and a member of its shooting team, as well as playing baseball and football, and was an avid outdoorsman.  He earned his associate’s degree from State Fair Community College and was currently working for U.P.S. as well as helping at Kirchhoff Farms during harvest.  Cody was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, Craig and Leslie; he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Carolyn Dial of Blackburn; his paternal grandparents, Roger and Colleen Dierking of Warsaw; aunt; Sharla Wright (Earl) of Blackburn; uncle, Stewart Dierking (Lauren) of Grand Pass; cousins, Aaron Wright and Brooke, Jase and Braylinn Dierking; as well as numerous friends.
