Warrensburg R-6 School District administrators announced the Meryl Lin McKean Classroom Impact Grant, “Reading is a Treat,” recently was awarded to Martin Warren Elementary teacher Kirsten Shaw.

The administration says this $2,769 grant will aid in expanding home literacy among students by converting the unused trophy case next to the gym into a book vending machine. Students will have an opportunity to use earned school dollars to purchase the books, which will be theirs to take home and begin their own home library.
