Two Jefferson City residents are facing drug-related felony charges after a traffic stop by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on I-70 in Lafayette County on August 15.

According to a report, a trooper says he located 99 THC cartridges; approximately three kilos of methamphetamine; suspected LSD tablets; $5,000 in cash; and a large digital scale during a search of the vehicle. The trooper says he also located a stolen weapon.

According to court documents, Mitchell James Krieg and Cassandra Lynn Sherman-King each is charged with felonies for trafficking drugs or attempt in the first degree, delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Sherman-King also is charged with a felony for unlawful use of a weapon; and Krieg with a drug-related misdemeanor. Each subject is being held without bond.

Krieg pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on August 17. His counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 25. Sherman-King pleaded not guilty during her arraignment on August 24. Her next hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
