The number hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased in Lafayette County on Tuesday, August 24.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, four more persons were hospitalized, upping the county’s total from 17 on Monday, August 23, to 21 on Tuesday.

The active case count increased by one from 147 to 148.

There have been 3,248 positive cases and 64 COVID-19-related deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of August 19, the positivity rate was 17.83 percent, according to the CDC Data Tracker.
