A Sedalia man was killed in a single motorcycle crash in Pettis County on Tuesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as the westbound 2009 Harley Davidson, driven by 42-year-old Micheal L. Shepherd, failed to negotiate a curve causing the driver to travel off the right side of the roadway into the ditch, and came to rest against a fence post.

The incident occurred on Maltsbarger Road, just three miles west of US Highway 65 at 9:35 p.m.

Shepherd was pronounced deceased at Bothwell Regional Health Center at 10 p.m.
